Review: For Ellen Moore's famous graphic novel V Forrend, there is a line that says, "There is more than just meat behind this mask. There is an idea underneath this mask ... and the ideas are bulletproof." Decided to play with the thought and turn it into a story full of innocence, love, smoker, deception and Tan. And boy, did she succeed for the most part!
Gautam (Kalyan Ram) is an investigative journalist who likes off-roading, spending time with his loving fiancee Megha (Shalini Pandey), a corrupt politician and covers such a person. On a certain night, in a certain room in a resort, she dreams of adoration (Nivetha Thomas), a girl she's never met before. He sees that he is being bloodied by the goons and woke up in a sweat. When her right dream is 6 months later; In the same room of the resort, he decides to dig deeper to find out if he is truly present. By doing so, she uncovers a conspiracy that surpasses the missing girl on her father's show.
Further revealing that Guhan and his character, Gautam, will be completely unfair to Knight when he rolls a climax with caution. Is the film exciting and without interruption? Yes. Does it have enough story of gripping? Of course. However, it certainly took its drawbacks and unrealistic cinematic freedom, with all the carpeting and editing of Tammy Raju, as the protagonist was exposed in a sharp picture of bloody glass, by Guhan's tight portrayal. The number that Shikhar Chandra composed is a number that only brings the story forward rather than proving it a hindrance. The music composer even does a good job of setting the mood with BGM. Guhan does a masterful job of jumping straight into the middle of the chaos without wasting time, which is a refreshing step. The only exception is the fight scene at the beginning which seems to have been left for it.
However, the real protagonist of this story is Nivetha Thomas, who gave a silly performance during his own limited screen. The junior was not fooling around on the NTR when he said that he had shed a tear after seeing him in the picture at the 118's pre-release event. Niveed Thomas is a revelation in the character of Obedience, which makes him guilty of his character's innocence, loving nature, boldness, stubbornness for justice and even ease. He is winding through his role, stealing the show, especially in a scene in which he has to express heartbreak.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has also improved compared to some of his earlier projects. And while he flounders in some key scenes, his acting is consistently good for the most part. With a character like her, it is conceivable that she is spreading madly at the doorsteps, unless the actor manages to convince the audience that she needs to find this girl from her dreams. Kalyan Ram does exactly that.
